Writers who show up for each other
Kentuckiana Romance Writers, Inc. is a Kentucky non-profit based in Louisville and serving romance and romantic fiction writers in the area.
No gatekeeping. Ever.
No matter your skill level or where you are in your career, whether you're brand new to writing or have published twenty-five novels, KRW welcomes you. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting romance literature across Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
Some of our members have nearly sixty titles out. Some are still deciding whether the thing on their laptop counts as a first draft. Both belong at the table, and both get the same welcome.
What we actually do is unglamorous and useful: teach each other the craft and the business, read each other's work, put on a book signing, publish an anthology for charity, and make sure nobody has to figure out publishing alone.

What membership includes
Monthly meetings, private Facebook Group, formal mentoring, information on local author events, our March mini-NaNo competition, annual anthology, field trips, our Romance Books, Hooks & Crooks book signing, and more.
Monthly Meetings
In person around the region or on Zoom. Craft, industry, and marketing sessions, plus writing sprints and critique when we need them.
Private Facebook Group
Members only, and the part people say they'd miss most. Questions get answered between meetings by someone who has already solved it.
Formal Mentoring
Structured pairings, not vague offers to help. Experienced members walk newer ones through querying, indie publishing, and everything after.
Annual Charity Anthology
No buy-in. Cover design, editing, and formatting are donated by members. Signups happen at a January meeting each year.
March Mini-NaNo
Our annual writing competition, with prizes and the specific accountability that comes from other people watching your word count.
Events & Field Trips
Local author events, group outings, and our own Romance Books, Hooks & Crooks signing every spring.
Board of Directors
KRW is run entirely by volunteer members who write their own books in whatever hours are left over.

Lisa Tapp
Our 2024 anthology, Double Down on Love, raised money for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in memory of founding member Lisa Tapp. The anthology continues every year, and so does the reason we started it.
Come see for yourself
Meetings run monthly, in person around the region or on Zoom. Prospective members are welcome to sit in before committing to anything.
Twenty dollars a year
Open to published and unpublished writers of romance and romantic fiction. That's the whole list of requirements.
