For the board: This policy was last revised in June 2020 and still refers to advertising partners and third-party ad cookies, which this site does not use. It should be reviewed by whoever handles KRW's compliance before launch. I've carried the substance over and removed only the advertising claims that are no longer accurate.

Kentuckiana Romance Writers, Inc. ("KRW", "we", "us") respects the privacy of everyone who visits this site. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly and a small amount of technical information collected automatically.

Information you provide. When you fill out the membership form or contact us, we collect your name or pen name, email addresses, Facebook handle, general location, and whatever you write in the message fields.
Log data. Like most websites, our host records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and the date and time of your visit.
Cookies. This site uses only what is required to display pages correctly. We do not run advertising cookies or sell data to advertising partners.

How we use it

To operate and maintain this website
To process membership applications and invoice annual dues
To add members to the private Facebook group and members' communications
To respond when you contact us
To send organizational updates and information about meetings and events

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the organization, such as our payment processor for dues invoicing and our email provider. Membership information is also visible to KRW board members administering the organization.

Your rights

If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to request disclosure of the personal information we hold about you, request its deletion, and opt out of any sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. We will respond to any such request within one month.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
